It’s A Square
Square bar has a bizarre policy: No pitchers on the bar. It’s not that you can’t drink from a pitcher at the bar but the pitcher has to sit at a table behind you. For $8.75 for a pitcher of lager it’s still a good deal but odd. And you get mugs. It’s a nice change from a pint glass to feel the weight of the mug in your hand. Beer drank the way beer was drunk.

Goat Race
This was shot a couple weekend’s ago at Sly Fox in Phoenixville. The brewery tapped its Maibock and named it after the winning goat. Also there was traditional German dancing. So yeah, goat racing exists and it’s surprisingly popular.

America’s pastime
Few things go together better than baseball and booze. A day at the ballpark just isn’t complete without a beer or six. Citizen’s Bank Park has a great selection of local microbrews, and it’s nice you don’t have to spend $7 on standard stadium swill. But it’s way too rich for our blood to play beer an inning.
Instead you’ll often find us playing a drinking game some friends taught us a few years back. Called baseball, it’s a combination of beer pong (beirut) and cups (flip cup). All you need are some plastic cups, a few ping pong balls and a table. You can play with any number of people, but we’ve found three to a team works best.
The rules are pretty simple — the same as a regular baseball game with 3 outs per inning, 9 innings per game. If you get on base, you can steal by running over to the side and drinking and flipping. Of course the other team can try to ‘throw you out’ by flipping their cup.
All in all this is a great game, fun for the whole family. Making up your own rules such as errors or bunts can add some drama. But beware, the brews can add up quickly, especially if you play a doubleheader.

Tower of Power
We finally took advantage of the towers of beer at Landmark. For those unfamiliar, Landmark is the most recently opened drinking establishment in West Chester. Their signature is the five-foot tall ‘beer tower’ which you can get filled with any suds they have on tap.
Apparently on Friday nights you can get towers of Bud Light for 20 bucks. Each tower holds about 10 beers so it’s a pretty good deal, even if it is Bud Light. Now we are not beer snobs by any means (Schaefer’s anyone?) but we do avoid Bud Light whenever possible. It’s just bad for you.
Long story short, the Bud Light was drank and we stumbled home. The next morning was not so fun.
